	Dordogne farm house. Self catering farmhouse in the Dordogne region of South West France. Masion de la Siguenie has been awarded *4 Globes* by the Where On earth Group for the year 2005.
La Siguenie is nestled in the hillside just 6kms from the small market town of Rouffignac in the heart of the \'Perigord Noir\'. The farm house have magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside of hills and forests. Rouffignac has a small Sunday market, a bank,a selection of shops, a boulangerie and three small bar/restaurants. It also boasts an impressive cave (open to the public) with a large number of prehistoric engravings on the walls. The galleries and chambers extend for more than 8kms. A tour by electric railway covers all the most important galleries. Les Eyzies de Tayac, known as the \'capital of prehistory\' is approximately 13 kms away. The village has an excellent museum of prehistory installed in a restored 13th century Chateau and a 13th century-fortified church. Sarlat is approximately 21kms away. The architecture here is made up of medieval, Renaissance, and 17th century faiences, carved doorways and fountains.
The accommodation has been tastefully restored with tiled floors, stone walls and beams throughout. The ground floor consists of a fully fitted kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, washing machine and microwave. There are French doors opening out onto a shady terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue. A double bedroom and a shower room with shower, basin and WC. The first floor consists of a spacious sitting room with an original stone fireplace and French doors opening out onto a large wooden balcony. A bedroom sleeping 4 and a shower room with shower, basin & WC. The grounds are mainly laid to lawn with shrubs and trees to offer shade and colour. There is a 4mts plunge pool situated in the centre of the garden. Also children\'s swings, parasols and garden furniture for relaxing outdoors. Across from the properties there is a newly installed 12mt x 6mt swimming pool. Weekly rental price includes all charges and bed linen.
