	Dordogne holiday homes. Self Catering holiday Homes in the Dordogne region of South west France. La Siguenie is a pretty Périgordian property nestled in the hillside just 5kms from the village of Plazac in the heart of the \'Perigord Noir\'. It consists of three attractive cottages, all renovated to a high standard with a shared courtyard and gardens. This delightful location has magnificent panoramic views over the surrounding countryside of hills and forests, offering peace and tranquility for anyone wanting to get away from it all!
Rouffignac has a small Sunday market, a bank, a selections of shops,a boulangerie and three bar/restaurants. It also boasts an impressive cave (open to the public) with a large number of prehistoric engravings on the walls. The galleries and chambers extend for more than 8 kms. A tour by electric railway covers all the most important galleries. Les Eyzies de Tayac, known as the \'capital of prehistory\' is approximately 13 kms away. The village has an excellent museum of pre history installed in a restored 13th century Chateau and a 13th century fortified church. Sarlat is approximately 21 kms away. The architecture here is made up of medieval, Renaissance, and 17th century facades, carved doorways and fountains.
The accommodation is in three cottages: \'The Studio\' sleeps two and consists of a spacious open plan living area with a small fitted kitchen, one double bedroom and bathroom with bath basin and WC. \'The Grange\' sleeps eight, and houses a modern galley kitchen with a comfortable lounge area opening out onto a large wooden balcony with spectacular views across the valley. To the left of the living area is a pretty, independent apartment for two. This apartment has a small kitchen/living area and a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. This is an ideal retreat for anyone wanting privacy from the rest of the group. The first floor of \' The Grange\' consists of two double bedrooms one with en suite bathroom, one twin room, and a shower room with separate WC. \'La Maison\' sleeps six and has a large living room with French doors opening out on to a wooden balcony, a large well equipped kitchen opening out on to a stone terrace, two bedrooms sleeping three and two shower rooms with WC. The grounds are pretty and well maintained, mainly put to lawn with trees and bushes. There is a 4mts plunge pool situated in the centre of the garden, children\'s swings, parasols, garden furniture, and barbecues for relaxing outdoors. Across from the properties there is a private, fenced 12mt x 6mt swimming pool. La Siguenie has been awarded *4 Globes* by the Where On Earth group for the year 2005.
