	Dordogne holiday home. Self catering holiday home to rent in Mareuil. Holiday home to rent near Brantome in the Dordogne region of South West France. The Coach house has passed through many historic changes since being built in 1495. Before becoming a private residence it was the village wine and spirit cave. The under croft and first floor being storage for the large wine casks. The modernisation has not distracted too much from the original feeling of the property but provides a comfortable and private holiday home.
Situated in the ancient chateau village of Mareuil sur Belle, in the Perigord Vert area of the Dordogne. The Coach House is conveniently located mid way between Angouleme and Perigueux. The village boasts its own busy weekly market, Restaurants, pavement cafes, a bank, butchers, boulangeries, a chemist, a post office, tourist information centre and a small supermarket. Rolling hills and forests surround the village giving ample opportunity for walking and cycling. Other local activities include fishing, canoeing, river swimming, tennis and boules. A few of the places to visit in this area include the magnificent island town of Brantome (12 miles), Perigueux, the capital of this department (28 miles) the busy market town of Riberac (15.5miles) and Aubeterre (21 miles) with its subterranean church, said to be one of the most beautiful villages in France.
The property has been tastefully renovated but still maintains its original character with an unusual pretty secluded inner courtyard. It consists of two levels and two parts. The ground floor is a garage with ample room to park two vehicles and a small, enclosed gravelled courtyard with raised flowerbeds & an original wooden spiral staircase leading to the living accommodation. ANNEXE 1 The First floor consists of a large double bedroom and a bathroom. A spacious lounge/kitchen/dining area with gas hob, washing machine, small oven and a fridge/freezer. There are comfortable chairs grouped around an original stone fireplace housing a log burning stove for cosy winter evenings. This room leads onto a sun terrace overlooking the courtyard with tables, chairs, sun-loungers and a barbecue. ANNEXE 2 Is separated from the main part of the accommodation by the balcony and houses a pretty twin bedroom with en suite shower, basin & WC. N.B The property is not suitable for small children because a wooden spiral staircase accesses the living accommodation. The Coach House has been awarded a \"4 Globes \" by World One Call for the year 2006 based on feed back from previous guests during year 2005.
