Dordogne Farmhouse.A beautifully restored self catering farmhouse to let close to Brantome. The property has splendid views as it is situated on the top of a small hill and looks across fields and woodland. The large covered terrace runs the length of the house and down to the garden. Situated at the side of the house is a second terrace which catches the last of the evening sun. There are sunloungers, garden tables, chairs and a barbecue.
The farmhouse is situated in the hamlet of La Chataignade, only 4km from the \'beautiful\' market town of Brantome and the village of Champagnac de Belair. The celebrated island town of Brantome boasts a fine Benedictine abbey and 11C-bell tower. Brantome also boasts a wide selection of restaurants, art exhibitions and various leisure/cultural events, shops, banks and a busy weekly market. The villages of Villars with its cave paintings, St Jean de Cole (one of the most beautiful villages in France) and Puyguilhem with its Chateau are all within a short distance. Canoeing and fishing on the Dronne are popular summer pastimes; canoe hire is available at Brantome. An open air swimming pool is situated at Champagnac along with tennis courts and a small play area for smaller visitors.
The accommodation comprises of a fully fitted kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine, a very pretty large living / dining room with French doors leading on to the covered terrace and a large stone fireplace housing a woodburning stove. A double bedroom with en suite shower room ( shower , hand basin, and W.C )and a twin bedroom also with en suite shower room.
